Technology, Digital and Sales Recruitment in Nottingham
Punching above their weight
With an IT workforce of nearly 12,000, Nottingham is a tech city with a lot to offer. Its tech scene has grown by 9% since 2015, thanks to the city’s strong higher education institutions, sustained investment in digital infrastructure, and a strong foundation of both multinationals and startups.
Several large tech employers have their UK headquarters in the city, including two global FinTechs. Capital One and Experian both create hundreds of jobs in Nottingham, and cement the city’s position as a top location for fintech startups and scaleups.
“For a city of its size, Nottingham punches above its weight when it comes to being the home of industry-leading multinationals”
Scott Knowles, East Midlands Chamber Chief Executive
In 2022, the University of Nottingham launched a research centre
focused on utilising financial technologies to promote a more inclusive culture
of innovation in the financial services industry. Known as INFINITY for
short, the Centre for Inclusive Financial Technology uses the latest data
analysis and modelling techniques to target financial inclusion, providing a
more diverse mix of opportunities in the industry.

For IT and tech professionals keen to be at the forefront of a new wave of the tech scene, Nottingham is the ideal location. The collaborative and innovative focus of the city is clear in its many tech initiatives, including the Nottingham Entrepreneurs Club and the Nottingham Technology Incubator, both of which provide support to startups.
