Role: Principal Developer

Location: Manchester (Hybrid)

Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 + Benefits

Applause IT are recruiting a Principal Developer for a fast-expanding business. We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual. This position requires a blend of leadership skills and technical expertise to guide a team through various software projects using Microsoft .NET and JavaScript frameworks.

Our client is a global leader in the design and manufacture of innovative security and communication systems, including video entry, video surveillance, anti-intrusion, home automation, access control, and fire protection. They emphasise a human-centric approach, fostering ethical relationships and partnerships. You'll be overseeing the implementation of flagship software projects, whilst managing a team of four developers.

This would be the perfect role for somebody hoping to move into a leadership position. Our client is happy to support anybody with strong communication skills, some experience in mentoring junior developers, and aspirations to build out a strong team of developers underneath them.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a software development team.
• Architect new software projects and make technology choices.
• Collaborate with overseas colleagues and manage remote teams.
• Utilize Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines, and Jenkins for CI/CD.
• Perform unit testing and manage development with C#/.NET Framework/.NET Core.
• Develop and maintain applications using ASP.Net, SQL Server, and Typescript.
• Engage with cloud computing technologies, including Azure and Google Cloud Services.

Key Skills Required:

• Strong communication skills for coordinating with remote teams.
• Expertise in Azure DevOps and Jenkins.
• Proficiency in C#/.NET Framework/.NET Core and ASP.Net.
• Experience with SQL Server and Typescript.

Desirable Skills:

• Knowledge of Docker and REST APIs.
• Experience with IoT development and an understanding of embedded devices.
