Alex Pitts - Managing Director

Alex Pitts is Managing Director of Applause IT, the Birmingham-based technology and digital recruitment consultancy founded in 2001, which he now co-owns with fellow director Jay. Alex joined the business in 2012, straight from the University of Birmingham, and has worked across the full range of Applause IT's recruitment before taking on the MD role. He focuses on long-term talent partnerships, hiring strategy and Applause IT's Talent Consultancy work. 

Alex studied Hispanic Studies at the University of Birmingham, including a year at the Universidad de Granada, and speaks Spanish at a professional level. He was a Silicon Canal Ambassador from 2019 to 2021 and mentored students at Birmingham City University.

Outside work, Alex is a keen sports fan, particularly Formula 1 and tries to get out on the golf course whenever he can.
