Senior Full Stack Engineer for a Leading UK HealthTech Provider
🏢 Company Type: HealthTech / Digital Healthcare
📍 Location: Remote - UK
⏳ Time to Hire: 13 Days
The Challenge
Our client, an established UK healthtech specialist, needed to strengthen its digital healthcare team with a senior engineer who was genuinely full stack, not a frontend or backend specialist with light exposure elsewhere. That meant someone comfortable moving between TypeScript, React, Node.js, AWS and SQL, with the technical judgement and confidence to own work from initial requirement through to delivery. The role was fully remote across the UK, which widened the talent pool but also put the client in direct competition with every other national remote opportunity on the market.
Our Approach
This wasn't a first-time brief - we've built an established relationship with this client across a number of technology and data hires, so we went in with a strong understanding of the organisation, its culture and the kind of person likely to thrive there. That context let us move quickly without compromising on fit.
✅ Screened for what candidates had actually built, owned and delivered, rather than relying on CV keyword matching
✅ Assessed genuine depth across the stack, probing how candidates approached technical decisions and how much autonomy they'd operated with
✅ Ran a two-stage interview process including a practical full-stack technical task, so the strongest candidates were tested under real conditions, not just on paper
The Result
The client secured an engineer capable of supporting the full lifecycle of product development - from technical design and build through to deployment and ongoing improvement - rather than someone who could only contribute to one layer of the application. The entire process, from briefing call to accepted offer, took 13 days, for a remote role paying around £65,000, without cutting any corners on the two-stage technical process.
The client has continued to bring us further technology and data requirements since - the clearest sign of confidence in our ability to understand a brief, communicate clearly, and present candidates who are genuinely aligned rather than simply available.
This placement sits within our growing work supporting engineering teams building healthcare-facing technology, part of our connected healthcare desk.
