Applause IT & Acorns Children’s Hospice
We’re proud to be a charity partner of Acorns Children’s Hospice, and regularly
take part in fundraising events to support their vital work. We paid a visit to
the Walsall Hospice to see their impact for ourselves, and most recently completed
the Malvern Hills
End-to-End Walk to raise a total £2,337!
For us, charity corporate partnerships should be causes that
you’re truly passionate about - we chose to support Acorns Children’s Hospice because
of the incredible work they do in the West Midlands. Not only do they provide
round-the-clock palliative care to children, but they also offer vital support
to families experiencing child illness and loss.
Of course, they couldn’t do this vital work without help; it costs £10 million a year to run the care services across the hospices and community.
This data collected from the Hospice’ 2023 Impact Report gives a further insight:
400+ - The number of family members the Family Services team have supported in the past year.
15,214 - Instances of emotional and practical support that the Acorns Family Services team have provided over the past year.
757 - The number of children and families that have been cared for in the past year by Acorns.
As part of our commitment to Acorns, we’re always looking
for new ways to contribute to their amazing cause, and try to raise funds
however we can. We give a 50% contribution every month from our Applause IT
‘Payday Lottery’, and we also donate a percentage of every single placement fee,
so we’re constantly giving back.
In addition to this, on the 14th October 2023, the
whole team had an exciting day out hiking 18 miles across the Malvern Hills.
The weather was certainly on our side as we had clear blue skies the whole day,
which is a rarity in October!
We met bright and early at 8am and set off on our hike,
guided by the wonderful Elite
Adventures. It wasn’t always easy, but we’re extremely proud to have
completed the hike and raised £2,337.
At Applause IT, we have a dedicated Corporate Social
Responsibility team who share ideas, cement our CSR policy, and help to
organise our charity events. As well as discussing charity corporate partnerships,
they’re also responsible for thinking of new ways to develop the company
culture, through things like team incentives and mental health support.
Kate Jackson works as a Recruitment Consultant and became a
member of the CSR Committee soon after joining Applause IT in November 2022.
“I really enjoy being involved in the CSR Committee and having
a lasting positive impact towards the charities that we work with. As a group,
we collectively decided to support Acorns Hospice and regularly meet up to
discuss new fundraising ideas and ways to get the whole team involved.
Having this contribution is not only fulfilling on a
personal level but also enables me to give back and make a difference!”

What are we planning for the future?
We’re always on the lookout for new ways to support our
charity partner and give back to the community.
Our financial goal for the future is to raise £10,000 by
April 2024 for Acorns Children’s Hospice -marking one year since we became an official
partner!
This December, we've got some fun festive fundraisers taking
place, like Christmas Jumper Day and Secret Santa. We're actively fundraising
and spreading the word about our charity partnership on our LinkedIn and
Instagram pages, where we regularly share updates and new content.
Stay tuned to our social media pages, as well as our
partnerships page, for the latest updates and more information about our charity
corporate partnerships.
