£ 75,000 to £85,000 Basic + Comms + Comp Bens. OTE £100-£120K+

Are you an experienced SaaS sales professional with expertise in the public sector and good knowledge of the elections market?

Applause IT are working with a Senior Sales Specialist to drive business growth, build strong client relationships, and support the expansion of our Elections division.

The Role

As a Senior Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, managing existing client relationships (cross sell / up sell), and driving revenue growth. Working closely with internal teams, you will play a key role in shaping sales strategies, delivering value-based solutions, and influencing stakeholders within the public sector. Clients are across various local government authorities and to central government.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a successful sales plan for the elections market
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, managing them through the sales cycle
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with both existing clients and new prospects
• Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and exhibitions across the UK
• Lead sales responses to formal procurement notices and create compelling proposals
• Accurately forecast sales and provide key insights to support business strategy

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in software solution sales to Local Government
• Strong understanding of elections processes (Data cleansing, eCounting and so on) and the public sector systems landscape in general
• Ability to design and present tailored solutions to meet client needs
• Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills
• Experience in running client workshops and mapping customer journeys
• A proactive and driven approach, with a track record of meeting and exceeding targets
