Service Desk Analyst / Engineer

Are you passionate about IT support and service excellence? We are seeking a Service Desk Analyst/Engineer to join our team in Birmingham. This role is vital in delivering first and second-line IT support across the organisation, ensuring smooth operations of IT, communications, and freight systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1st and 2nd Line Support, logging and resolving incidents in a timely manner.
- Troubleshoot, escalate, and resolve technical issues for both on-site and remote users.
- Deploy and maintain hardware/software, ensuring system updates and patches.
- Support Active Directory, Exchange, and manage user accounts and permissions.
- Handle MFD printer/scanner troubleshooting and management.
- Assist with backup management, data retrieval, and network system maintenance.
- Contribute to documentation updates, including asset registers and knowledge bases.
- Work on IT projects and provide out-of-hours support on a rota basis.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of ITIL processes and service level agreements.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows environments, Office 365, and Azure.
- Solid understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPNs) and VMware.
- Proven troubleshooting skills with a logical approach to fault resolution.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
- Certifications such as ITIL Foundation, MCSA, or CompTIA A+ are desirable.
