Are you passionate about IT support and service excellence? We are seeking a Service Desk Analyst/Engineer to join our team in Birmingham. This role is vital in delivering first and second-line IT support across the organisation, ensuring smooth operations of IT, communications, and freight systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1st and 2nd Line Support, logging and resolving incidents in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoot, escalate, and resolve technical issues for both on-site and remote users.
  • Deploy and maintain hardware/software, ensuring system updates and patches.
  • Support Active Directory, Exchange, and manage user accounts and permissions.
  • Handle MFD printer/scanner troubleshooting and management.
  • Assist with backup management, data retrieval, and network system maintenance.
  • Contribute to documentation updates, including asset registers and knowledge bases.
  • Work on IT projects and provide out-of-hours support on a rota basis.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of ITIL processes and service level agreements.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows environments, Office 365, and Azure.
  • Solid understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPNs) and VMware.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills with a logical approach to fault resolution.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
  • Certifications such as ITIL Foundation, MCSA, or CompTIA A+ are desirable.
