Applause IT are hiring a hands-on IT Project Manager to become part of the UK's top organisation that offers specialised education, care, and activities to assist children, adults, and families in various services and schools.

As IT Project Manager you will be responsible for overseeing medium to large IT projects, that contribute to the company's overarching goals, ensuring projects are completed on time and to budget. This position will see you working closely with senior stakeholders in gathering requirements, as well as line managing an Assistant Project Manager.

The Role:

  • Define project goals, ensuring these align with business objectives, and utilise project management software and resources to create comprehensive project plans.
  • Oversee project tasks across diverse functional areas, ensuring project adherence to relevant standards and regulations, and monitor budget and tracking expenditures through financial reporting systems.
  • Identify project risks and issues, and address these using appropriate methodologies.
  • Ensure efficient communication of project progress to senior management and stakeholders by conducting regular meetings, thereby facilitating effective communication channels.
  • Manage and lead project team, offering guidance and mentorship to project staff and contractors, fostering growth and development.

The successful IT Project Manager should have:

  • At least 3 years of project management experience, and an understanding of project management methodologies, and best practises such as Agile, Scrum or Waterfall.
  • Knowledge of project management software, such as, Microsoft Project, Jira, Asana or similar.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading teams, combined with the skillset to engage and cooperate with various teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Experience working on Financial Systems / Finance Systems implementations would be beneficial.
  • Great attention to detail, and an analytical mindset.
  • A certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2, etc.) would be beneficial, but not essential.
